Description Nir Yechiel 2016-08-31 09:46:28 UTC
Description of problem:

We need to document the Newton QoS DSCP feature. The functionality make use of Open vSwitch for adding DSCP marks to outbound network traffic.

Assigning to Martin for review.

Comment 3 Martin Lopes 2016-10-07 03:31:24 UTC
In my testing, I noticed that the Networking Guide needs to be updated to enable QoS in the config files:
https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en/red-hat-openstack-platform/9/paged/networking-guide/chapter-10-configure-quality-of-service-qos

Expanding the scope of this bug to include this.

Comment 4 Martin Lopes 2016-10-07 03:35:07 UTC
Parameters have also changed:
--max_kbps 3000 --max_burst_kbps 300

are now:
--max-kbps 3000 --max-burst-kbps 300

These fixes must be backported to the osp9 docs.

Are you using RHOSP director? If so, the QoS extension should be configured by default. If this is not the case - please raise a bug or ping beagles.

Ah makes sense, I'm currently testing with OSP10 packstack while we get our director lab going. Will presume that it is configured by default for now.

Moving to `verified` after adding in feedback from Deepti's peer review. Note that this content won't be visible in the current build due to BZ#1367972.

@Martin, I think you are mixing two features here; why this one (QoS DSCP) depends on DVR?

Thanks,
Nir

Ah you're right. Confirmed that this content is indeed in the current OSP10 build.
