Note: This bug is displayed in read-only format because the product is no longer active in Red Hat Bugzilla.
RHEL Engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on RHEL 6 through RHEL 9 to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs in the statuses "NEW", "ASSIGNED", and "POST" are being migrated throughout September 2023. Bugs of Red Hat partners with an assigned Engineering Partner Manager (EPM) are migrated in late September as per pre-agreed dates. Bugs against components "kernel", "kernel-rt", and "kpatch" are only migrated if still in "NEW" or "ASSIGNED". If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHEL-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Description Chuck Copello 2016-09-21 18:31:47 UTC
Description of problem: I'm using a Lenovo X1 Carbon, RHEL 7.2 (CSB), Jawbone ICON HD. It connects, but rarely pairs. I recorded a movie on my phone of the pairing but not connecting behavior: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B5ssspNAkSvTY0s4V0tSSUFfZFk.I've used the Jawbone for a while on my phone and previous (pre-Red Hat) computers.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

How reproducible: I've attempted to pair & use about 7 or 8 times; only once did it connect and the audio was laggy & distorted.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Turn on the Jawbone
2. Open Settings, and select Bluetooth
3. See the Jawbone pair, but never connect. Or flip between Connection: Off and On

Actual results: Never connects; cannot use for music playback or Bluejeans

Expected results: Expected to use it for audio playback and Bluejeans meetings.

Forgive me if I am being dense; I only see the "Doc type" as needing more info. Please let me know if you need additional information, need some logs, etc.

Could you try to update to 7.3 version? I think bluez can do the trick.
There was a similar bug 1263638.

Comment 5 Chuck Copello 2017-07-31 15:28:33 UTC
Sorry; was on PTO last week. Unfortunately my Jawbone headset died since I opened this BZ. I have had success pairing with Beats PowerBeats headset, but it doesn't recognize the mic in the headset (tracked with https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1305453).

Head set connect issue I've recently fixed with RHEL-7.7 bluez release which is 5.44-5.el7 in regards to following bz
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1667100

Please check, once the rhel-7.7 releases. does this fixes the issue for you as well.

Unfortunately I do not have a RHEL laptop anymore.

Comment 8 Wim Taymans 2019-09-27 15:49:18 UTC
Assuming it's fixed now, please reopen if not.
