Description Ameya Charekar 2016-10-25 23:31:54 EDT
What is the plan and schedule for Windows Server 2016 support in rhv?
Comment 5 Michal Skrivanek 2016-12-07 02:58:34 EST
Can you please check the GA reporting? SSO is not needed
Comment 6 Vinzenz Feenstra [evilissimo] 2016-12-07 03:07:36 EST
I already did that together with the Win10 reporting

Windows Server 2016 Reported in RHV 4.0
Comment 8 Vinzenz Feenstra [evilissimo] 2016-12-07 08:30:02 EST
The only things missing, IIUC are
- UI options to add Windows Server 2016
- prepare the sysprep
- prepare the osinfo
Comment 9 Michal Skrivanek 2016-12-09 06:24:34 EST
please check the sysprep conf. We may simply rename the "Windows 10" type to include 2016 if there is no difference anywhere
Comment 10 Tomáš Golembiovský 2016-12-11 19:25:15 EST
Regarding the sysprep template "Windows 2012 x64" is the right candidate to clone.

Comment 14 Jiri Belka 2017-01-04 09:55:44 EST
missing sysprep file

[root@jbelka-vm4 yum.repos.d]# grep '2016.*sysprep' /etc/ovirt-engine/osinfo.conf.d/00-defaults.properties
os.windows_2016x64.sysprepPath.value = ${ENGINE_USR}/conf/sysprep/sysprep.2k16x64

[root@jbelka-vm4 yum.repos.d]# ls -l /usr/share/ovirt-engine/conf/sysprep/sysprep.2k16x64
ls: cannot access /usr/share/ovirt-engine/conf/sysprep/sysprep.2k16x64: No such file or directory

rhevm-4.1.0-0.3.beta2.el7.noarch also check on latest ovirt 4.1
Comment 15 Jiri Belka 2017-01-05 06:01:48 EST
(FYI, w2k16 hangs when I try to make new volume on a disk utilizing vioscsi passthrough controller and direct-lun, ie. vioscsi.sys)

Comment 24 Emma Heftman 2017-02-09 11:40:17 EST
Vinzenz, in order to understand the documentation efforts that will be required for this enhancement, can you please take a look at this section and let me know whether the only change is the addition of Windows Server 2016 to the list of OSs when creating a vm, or whether there are other limitations/additions/differences that need to be added to the documentation.

Also, does it affect other sections, or other guides?

Comment 26 Jiri Belka 2017-03-09 05:51:02 EST
ok, 4.1.3 WGT and rhevm-4.1.1.3-0.1.el7.noarch

(SCSI fencing is still lacking some pieces but it's beeing solved in other BZ111784)
