What is the plan and schedule for Windows Server 2016 support in rhv?
Can you please check the GA reporting? SSO is not needed
I already did that together with the Win10 reporting
Created attachment 1229056 [details] Windows Server 2016 Reported in RHV 4.0
The only things missing, IIUC are - UI options to add Windows Server 2016 - prepare the sysprep - prepare the osinfo
please check the sysprep conf. We may simply rename the "Windows 10" type to include 2016 if there is no difference anywhere
Regarding the sysprep template "Windows 2012 x64" is the right candidate to clone.
Created attachment 1231247 [details] Windows Server 2016 Can be now selected in RHV
missing sysprep file [root@jbelka-vm4 yum.repos.d]# grep '2016.*sysprep' /etc/ovirt-engine/osinfo.conf.d/00-defaults.properties os.windows_2016x64.sysprepPath.value = ${ENGINE_USR}/conf/sysprep/sysprep.2k16x64 [root@jbelka-vm4 yum.repos.d]# ls -l /usr/share/ovirt-engine/conf/sysprep/sysprep.2k16x64 ls: cannot access /usr/share/ovirt-engine/conf/sysprep/sysprep.2k16x64: No such file or directory rhevm-4.1.0-0.3.beta2.el7.noarch also check on latest ovirt 4.1
(FYI, w2k16 hangs when I try to make new volume on a disk utilizing vioscsi passthrough controller and direct-lun, ie. vioscsi.sys)
(In reply to Jiri Belka from comment #14) > missing sysprep file > > [root@jbelka-vm4 yum.repos.d]# grep '2016.*sysprep' > /etc/ovirt-engine/osinfo.conf.d/00-defaults.properties > os.windows_2016x64.sysprepPath.value = > ${ENGINE_USR}/conf/sysprep/sysprep.2k16x64 > > [root@jbelka-vm4 yum.repos.d]# ls -l > /usr/share/ovirt-engine/conf/sysprep/sysprep.2k16x64 > ls: cannot access /usr/share/ovirt-engine/conf/sysprep/sysprep.2k16x64: No > such file or directory > > rhevm-4.1.0-0.3.beta2.el7.noarch also check on latest ovirt 4.1 is anyone looking at this?
Yes already for some time
Added backport Gerrit patch
We have BZ on it; https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1419562
Vinzenz, in order to understand the documentation efforts that will be required for this enhancement, can you please take a look at this section and let me know whether the only change is the addition of Windows Server 2016 to the list of OSs when creating a vm, or whether there are other limitations/additions/differences that need to be added to the documentation. Also, does it affect other sections, or other guides? https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en/red-hat-virtualization/4.0/paged/virtual-machine-management-guide/chapter-3-installing-windows-virtual-machines
ok, 4.1.3 WGT and rhevm-4.1.1.3-0.1.el7.noarch (SCSI fencing is still lacking some pieces but it's beeing solved in other BZ111784)
Hi , I can't see the articl update https://access.redhat.com/articles/973163 Is it windows 2016 supported like guest? Where is the official notification or solution ?
