Description Ameya Charekar 2016-10-26 03:31:54 UTC
What is the plan and schedule for Windows Server 2016 support in rhv?

Comment 5 Michal Skrivanek 2016-12-07 07:58:34 UTC
Can you please check the GA reporting? SSO is not needed

Comment 6 Vinzenz Feenstra [evilissimo] 2016-12-07 08:07:36 UTC
I already did that together with the Win10 reporting

Windows Server 2016 Reported in RHV 4.0

Comment 8 Vinzenz Feenstra [evilissimo] 2016-12-07 13:30:02 UTC
The only things missing, IIUC are
- UI options to add Windows Server 2016
- prepare the sysprep
- prepare the osinfo

Comment 9 Michal Skrivanek 2016-12-09 11:24:34 UTC
please check the sysprep conf. We may simply rename the "Windows 10" type to include 2016 if there is no difference anywhere

Comment 10 Tomáš Golembiovský 2016-12-12 00:25:15 UTC
Regarding the sysprep template "Windows 2012 x64" is the right candidate to clone.

Comment 14 Jiri Belka 2017-01-04 14:55:44 UTC
missing sysprep file

[root@jbelka-vm4 yum.repos.d]# grep '2016.*sysprep' /etc/ovirt-engine/osinfo.conf.d/00-defaults.properties
os.windows_2016x64.sysprepPath.value = ${ENGINE_USR}/conf/sysprep/sysprep.2k16x64

[root@jbelka-vm4 yum.repos.d]# ls -l /usr/share/ovirt-engine/conf/sysprep/sysprep.2k16x64
ls: cannot access /usr/share/ovirt-engine/conf/sysprep/sysprep.2k16x64: No such file or directory

rhevm-4.1.0-0.3.beta2.el7.noarch also check on latest ovirt 4.1

Comment 15 Jiri Belka 2017-01-05 11:01:48 UTC
(FYI, w2k16 hangs when I try to make new volume on a disk utilizing vioscsi passthrough controller and direct-lun, ie. vioscsi.sys)

Comment 24 Emma Heftman 2017-02-09 16:40:17 UTC
Vinzenz, in order to understand the documentation efforts that will be required for this enhancement, can you please take a look at this section and let me know whether the only change is the addition of Windows Server 2016 to the list of OSs when creating a vm, or whether there are other limitations/additions/differences that need to be added to the documentation.

Also, does it affect other sections, or other guides?

https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en/red-hat-virtualization/4.0/paged/virtual-machine-management-guide/chapter-3-installing-windows-virtual-machines

Comment 26 Jiri Belka 2017-03-09 10:51:02 UTC
ok, 4.1.3 WGT and rhevm-4.1.1.3-0.1.el7.noarch

(SCSI fencing is still lacking some pieces but it's beeing solved in other BZ111784)

Comment 28 Edu Alcaniz 2017-05-01 16:54:02 UTC
