The vioscsi.sys file is now compatible with Microsoft Cluster Services, which enables the Windows virtio-scsi driver to support Windows Server Failover Clustering (WSFC) using shared storage. As a result, vioscsi.sys can pass all tests in the "Validate a Configuration" process.

Description of problem:

Spin off from BZ https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1111784#c8

"That said, failover clustering on Windows requires the driver to show up as a SAS, iSCSI or FC driver. Currently, vioscsi.sys doesn't do that. So it's possible that Microsoft failover cluster will not work on virtio-scsi even if sg_persist working on Linux."

This is required for Microsoft Failover clusters to be able to use SCSI reservations.

Can you please provide a update on this one?
It's blocking a customer escalated ticket.

This is blocking us from allowing SCSI reservation for windows, can you give a update on driver development?

Dropping Lev from assignee. Please open a WGT build request once the RFE is done on Virt side.

Lev,
I personally think the title of the bug is confusing.
I created this kcs:
https://access.redhat.com/solutions/2937021
And I believe we should change the bug title to be more clear, since the platform bug it refers to is closed errata.

Can you please?

I think it's actually clear enough, it's a Windows Guest Tools update related to the specific new feature that was added in the VirtIO-Win drivers.

What title you suggest for the bug?

Lev, iiuc, this bug is pending this bug:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1111784
And not the one mentioned in the title.
Or maybe we can add this bug to the title wihtout removing the first one.

ok, 3.6-7 (just driver in WGT)

# mount | grep loop
/usr/share/rhev-guest-tools-iso/RHEV-toolsSetup_3.6_7.iso on /mnt type iso9660 (rw,loop=/dev/loop0)
# grep scsi /mnt/Manifest/iso_manifest.txt
rhev-vioscsi-msi-4.13-3
# grep ^DriverVer /mnt/Drivers/vioscsi/2k16/amd64/vioscsi.inf

From my understanding both this BZ and the one you mentioned were blocked by 1219841.
