.The Ceph Object Gateway data logs are trimmed automatically Previously, after data logs in the Ceph Object Gateway were processed by data syncs and were no longer needed, they remained in the Ceph Object Gateway host taking up space. Ceph now automatically removes these logs.

Multisite sync is based on logs of data and metadata changes, which will continue to grow over time. Log entries should be trimmed periodically once it can be proved that no other zone will need to read them.

Matt and Casey, would you please confirm that this bug will be resolved in Ceph v10.2.7 and we don't need any downstream-specific patches on top of that?

Casey should ack, but my understanding is this is complete in v10.2.7.

Data log trimming was tagged as a feature, so the relevant prs (https://github.com/ceph/ceph/pull/10372 and https://github.com/ceph/ceph/pull/10546) were not backported to jewel. I'll need to cherry-pick those.
