Got no response. Another contact attempt was made via IRC, maintainer did not respond though he was not idle. Furthermore, the original bug was open for 9 months now, without any response. I conclude he has either no time or interest in reviewing and applying fixes without community contribution. Original bug updated with more info. We don't really want to open up mkinitrd for wider commits at this time, as the package shouldn't generally have any changes directly applied.
Clearing cvs flag for now, feel free to reset if you need any more cvsadmin attention?
