Description of problem: Using fedora/linux/releases/test/12-Beta/Fedora/i386/iso/Fedora-12-Beta-i386-netinst.iso from a USB stick does not work as it should (see bug 491725 for background). Trying to install onto to a T61 has following issues: - installer asks for partition and directory holding installation image for Fedora - I wonder why cannot the installer try probing with LABEL directive? An ordinary user will get easily confused here. All in all, not a critical issue. - when installer is searching for storage device it shows an error when processing the USB stick used for installation and asks whether to ignore or re-initialize - I think the installation source should be skipped automatically. - after selecting 'Ignore drive' a window titled "Unknown Device" with text "The installation source given by device /dev/sdb1 could not be found. Please check your parameters adn try again." and the only option is "Exit installer". Thus, Fedora 12 Beta installation has failed from a USB stick. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): Fedora 12 Beta How reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. See the description Additional info: This is IMHO rather important since some (mini) laptops are without a CD drive nowadays
