Assertion because it failed to load "mozilla-viewer.ui". What's the output of "rpm -V totem-mozplugin"? Do you still have that problem with the 2.28.4 version? Can you still reproduce the problem?

Failure to load "mozilla-viewer.ui" also leads to an error dialog, and clicking "OK" leads to a crash in Fedora 14 Branched: $ rpm -q totem-mozplugin totem-mozplugin-2.90.5-5.fc14.x86_64 No dependency on "totem" in there, which contains /usr/share/totem/mozilla-viewer.ui however.
This message is a reminder that Fedora 12 is nearing its end of life. Approximately 30 (thirty) days from now Fedora will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 12. It is Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time this bug will be closed as WONTFIX if it remains open with a Fedora 'version' of '12'. Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version' to a later Fedora version prior to Fedora 12's end of life. Bug Reporter: Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we may not be able to fix it before Fedora 12 is end of life. If you would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version of Fedora please change the 'version' of this bug to the applicable version. If you are unable to change the version, please add a comment here and someone will do it for you. Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Fedora 12 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2010-12-02. Fedora 12 is no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug. If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of Fedora please feel free to reopen this bug against that version. Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed.
Still exists with totem-mozplugin-2.30.2-1.fc13.x86_64, solved by installing totem.x86_64 0:2.30.2-1.fc13 by hand.
Re-opening at Oliver Henshaw's request.
It seems that the totem-mozplugin package should depend on totem package, which is an EasyFix.
Created attachment 470469 [details] totem.spec patch for Fedora 13
(In reply to comment #12) > Created attachment 470469 [details] > totem.spec patch for Fedora 13 This was successfully tested by with totem and totem-mozplugin from the http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=2687253 scratch-build installed on the F13 KDE spin iso.
Inspection of the F15 spec file reveals that this bug still needs fixing. It seems totem-mozplugin is the only subpackage to not require totem.

Created attachment 510131 [details] Patch If totem doesn't need mozilla-viewer.ui for other stuff, It would be best to move it to the mozplugin package. Attached patch does that.
totem-3.0.1-3.fc15 has been submitted as an update for Fedora 15. https://admin.fedoraproject.org/updates/totem-3.0.1-3.fc15
Package totem-3.0.1-3.fc15: * should fix your issue, * was pushed to the Fedora 15 testing repository, * should be available at your local mirror within two days. Update it with: # su -c 'yum update --enablerepo=updates-testing totem-3.0.1-3.fc15' as soon as you are able to. Please go to the following url: https://admin.fedoraproject.org/updates/totem-3.0.1-3.fc15 then log in and leave karma (feedback).
I just tested this in a recent F16 nightly. The totem-mozplugin still crashes, this time for lack of fullscreen,ui. It would want the totem libraries anyway, right? Otherwise it can't do anything. Surely the patch from comment #12 is the correct solution? All the other plugins require the main totem package, after all.
Confirmed - this issue is not fixed by the above package update. fullscreen.ui is required by mozplugin as well as mozilla-viewer.ui. I confirm that adding fullscreen.ui into the mix (without installing the totem package) allows the plugin to function fine. Making totem-mozplugin depend on totem would be one solution, but it is not ideal. There is no need to pull in all of totem just for one little UI definition - perhaps we could have a "totem-shared-ui" subpackage or something like that? The space savings of avoiding bringing in the full totem package are attractive for embedded users such as OLPC XO-1 Sugar-only builds like the one being used here in Nicaragua where available disk space is limited.
Adding totem to OLPC's Sugar-only images adds the a of packages to the build as dependencies of totem :( these are: dirac-libs-1.0.2-4.fc14.i686 dvb-apps-1.1.1-22.fc14.i686 enca-1.13-1.fc14.i686 exempi-2.1.1-1.fc13.i686 fftw-3.2.2-4.fc13.i686 fuse-2.8.5-5.fc14.i686 fuse-libs-2.8.5-5.fc14.i686 gnome-dvb-daemon-0.1.22-1.fc14.i686 gsm-1.0.13-2.fc12.i686 gstreamer-plugins-bad-free-0.10.20-3.fc14.1.i686 gstreamer-rtsp-0.10.7-1.fc14.i686 gvfs-fuse-1.6.6-1.fc14.i686 libass-0.9.12-1.fc14.i686 libcdaudio-0.99.12p2-13.fc12.i686 libdc1394-2.1.2-3.fc12.i686 libdvdnav-4.1.4-0.1.svn1184.fc12.i686 libdvdread-4.1.4-0.2.svn1188.fc13.i686 libexif-0.6.19-1.fc14.i686 libgee-0.5.2-2.fc14.i686 libiptcdata-1.0.4-3.fc14.i686 libkate-0.3.7-2.fc14.i686 libmodplug-0.8.8.3-3.fc14.i686 libmpcdec-1.2.6-6.fc12.i686 libofa-0.9.3-16.fc12.i686 libvpx-0.9.6-1.fc14.i686 mpfr-2.4.2-1.fc13.i686 python-feedparser-5.0.1-1.fc14.noarch python-httplib2-0.6.0-3.fc14.noarch pyxdg-0.19-2.fc14.noarch raptor-1.4.21-1.fc13.i686 rasqal-0.9.21-1.fc14.i686 redland-1.0.12-1.fc14.i686 schroedinger-1.0.10-1.fc14.i686 slv2-0.6.6-6.fc14.i686 unique-1.1.6-1.fc13.i686 so please let's try and avoid fixing this by making totem-mozplugin depend on totem.
