Comment 1 Aleksej 2010-06-25 22:43:58 UTC
Solution -
1. yum remove alsa-pulseaudio-plugins
2. Adjust audio output via alsa.

But this is - not the best solution, for several reasons. Probably, there is a more correct solution of the problem?

Comment 2 Pavel Alexeev 2010-12-10 13:23:39 UTC
Jaroslav, is there any true solutions? Why HDA Intel sound have troubles in several Fedora releases?

Comment 3 Aleksej 2010-12-10 14:11:51 UTC
In Fedora 14 - the same problem. Mayday, SOS, help me - the second year of tone, nobody do not care. Or Russian corruption has penetrated and RedHat? :) Very, very bad.

Comment 4 Tony Browning 2011-11-03 02:05:15 UTC
I never had trouble with sound in fc14 but now i'm having trouble with (no sound) in fedora 16 32bit.

Comment 5 Tony Browning 2011-11-03 04:45:52 UTC
Correction for Aleksej* I persume Aleksej's solution - (from above) did not solve his no tone (no sound) and he/she mean't to word it this way,"the second year of no tone". Would? >this problem be in alsa or flash-plugin-11.0.1.152-release.i386rpm for linux which is a:rpm package from macromedia.com and provided thru firefox-7.0.1.tar.bz2. I always use adobe flash player 11.0.1.165 (sound in youtube and video both worked), i think those are the numbers but 164 would not work. Help would be most appreciated!

Comment 6 Aleksej 2011-11-03 11:28:26 UTC
Several days ago the sound again does not work. Fedora 15.

Comment 7 Tony Browning 2011-11-03 22:11:58 UTC
Alsa getting plenty of connection but no sound. I plug-in my ear phones and can tell from the crackling noise its getting connect and while in alsa settings my machine memory and compressors rev up the noise but yet, no sound. Any help here? Can't do without sound, SOS!!

Comment 8 Tony Browning 2011-11-03 22:17:43 UTC
aleksej think us and 1000's of others are screwed because what help are you getting with this problem?

Comment 9 Tony Browning 2011-11-03 22:26:26 UTC
Aleksej, did you try the above solution you posted of #su, password, then #yum remove alsa-pulseaudio-plugins and then, #Adjust audio output via alsa ? and where this info come-from and if you tryed it, did it EVER work?

Comment 10 Tony Browning 2011-11-03 23:59:29 UTC
is alsa all we got to chose from? so we can throw it to the curb. and i never have liked firefox. its a piece of junk also.

Comment 11 Tony Browning 2011-11-04 21:44:40 UTC
Created attachment 531853 [details]
I attached an abiword file of all my past Fedora 14 Packages that worked perfectly before I updated to Fedora 16 Beta.

Had sound using these FC14 packages but no sound using FC16 packages.

Comment 12 Tony Browning 2011-11-04 22:01:58 UTC
I just added an attachment from my former fc14 packages app file towards bug #607520 and i'm still scratching my head wondering where attachment with bug 531853 came from? Not perfect, just trying to learn!!!

Strike that remark off. Been checking out firefox and WOW its gotten to be the BEST, even better than google <3 and alsa always has been the best over the years!!! And Aleksej you should know because you probably are Russian. -)

Correction* During the last few years it has been version flash-plugin;10.1.102.65-release-i386 Adobe Flash Player 10.1 that was the only version that would work the youtube video's with sound and video. Even tryed flash player version 10.1.102.64 and ALL the others but they would not work. Now firefox's recommended and installed flash player plugin 11.0.1.152 loads and plays video's excellent. With my slow internet connection while video is set on 240p it never skips a beat and has to reload. But, just don't have sound like I just recently had using fedora 12, 13, 14 and just simple boot cd 15.

Aleksej, if it will help you and I with the no sound problem (hope so). I filed a new bug report with ID Number of 751323. You might want or need to check.

Comment 17 Tony Browning 2011-11-17 02:57:22 UTC
Jaroslav Kysela <perex> and Tim Janik <timj I'd like to take the time to commend you guys for making an excellent Alsa Mixer sound plugin that with the right packages does work. It also works with PNMixer. And yes Pavel and Aleksej mine is also a HDA Intel. As you might view from bug #751323 my sound is now fixed. Since Google web browser already has a built-in Flash Player and also works with alsa, I installed version, google-chrome-stable-15.0.874.120-108895 (32bit) but yet sound still never worked. I checked for updates in Fedora 16's Software Updates and there were 34 new updates waiting to be installed with the new release of Fedora 16 (Verne) and The Linux kernel version, kernel-3.1.1-1.fc16 (32bit) was among the new 34 updates. I Updated/installed all of the updates and sound was once again restored. Thanks guys, consider this problem fixed for me!!!

Comment 18 Fedora End Of Life 2012-08-16 18:28:50 UTC
This message is a notice that Fedora 14 is now at end of life. Fedora
has stopped maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 14. It is
Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no
longer maintained. At this time, all open bugs with a Fedora 'version'
of '14' have been closed as WONTFIX.

(Please note: Our normal process is to give advanced warning of this
occurring, but we forgot to do that. A thousand apologies.)

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you
plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, feel free to reopen
this bug and simply change the 'version' to a later Fedora version.

Bug Reporter: Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that
we were unable to fix it before Fedora 14 reached end of life. If you
would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it
against a later version of Fedora, you are encouraged to click on
"Clone This Bug" (top right of this page) and open it against that
version of Fedora.

Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's
lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a
more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes
bugs or makes them obsolete.

The process we are following is described here:
