Few seconds after I sent an email, it crashed. No particular pattern.

Comment

I'm going to send reports because Evolution was never so unstable as it is in F13. And this is so from the release date...

I have so many crashes that it's unbeliviable. This is more like some alpha quality sw, then something that is stable. Does anyone notices this?

How to reproduce
-----
Not sure. It appears to happen totally randomly when just viewing or composing messages. Sometimes it happens when selecting a different signature, but not at other times.

Comment
-----
I only installed and configured evolution 40 min ago, and it keeps periodically crashing, seemingly at random.

Comment 16 Jessica Jones 2010-10-05 11:17:22 UTC
I've noticed, after disabling various plugins and playing around, that if I tell it not to do any junk mail filtering that it seems to be *a lot* more stable in that it actually seems to be vaguely usable. I don't know if this is a red-herring but it seems to work in my case.

How to reproduce
-----
This time, I had just had it open for a long time, and I changed focus to the inbox from another folder, and scrolled up to find something. I can't reproduce it at will, it seems random, but having less plugins active helps.

As in, helps to prevent crashes for longer.

Is anyone noticing this?

Evolution crashed about 6 times in 10 minutes. Almost each time while I pressed send button, and several times while composing mail.

Nothing consistent I'm afraid. I find that just using it, it crashes at random intervals during the day. I wondered if there is a threading problem. You can be just looking at emails and suddenly it will all hang and stop taking input, and then crash.

I can send you a screenshot of ABRT with one report for evolution for every 10 minutes near enough in a single morning, which made me wonder if there is something to do with maybe the mouse event thread or similar, plus the thread polling the IMAP server, but I'm clutching at straws here.

Comment 26 Jessica Jones 2010-10-27 08:15:34 UTC
I don't know if this has anything to do with it, but sometimes I see messages like this before it crashes (having run it from a terminal):

*** glibc detected *** evolution: corrupted double-linked list: 0x00000000034049b0 ***

This seems to happen fairly regularly when I tag emails, although it does not happen every time.

How to reproduce
-----
I was just reading the email, and didn't even click on anything this time. Presumably something that happens periodically in the background (eg polling the IMAP server?) triggered the crash.

1. I was replying to an e-mail and pressed the button send
2. After 1 second, the browser crashed
3.

Comment

When I open Evolution, I always get a message saying "Storing folder" that runs for about 3-4 seconds.

Comment 32 Bug Zapper 2011-05-31 14:33:41 UTC
This message is a reminder that Fedora 13 is nearing its end of life.
Approximately 30 (thirty) days from now Fedora will stop maintaining
and issuing updates for Fedora 13. It is Fedora's policy to close all
bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time
this bug will be closed as WONTFIX if it remains open with a Fedora
'version' of '13'.

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you
plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version'
to a later Fedora version prior to Fedora 13's end of life.

Bug Reporter: Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that
we may not be able to fix it before Fedora 13 is end of life. If you
would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it
against a later version of Fedora please change the 'version' of this
bug to the applicable version. If you are unable to change the version,
please add a comment here and someone will do it for you.

Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's
lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a
more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes
bugs or makes them obsolete.

The process we are following is described here:
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/BugZappers/HouseKeeping

Comment 33 Bug Zapper 2011-06-28 13:28:10 UTC
Fedora 13 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2011-06-25. Fedora 13 is
no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further
security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug.

If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of
Fedora please feel free to reopen this bug against that version.

Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed.
