Red Hat Product Errata RHBA-2013:1332 0 normal SHIPPED_LIVE subscription-manager bug fix and enhancement update 2013-09-30 22:49:24 UTC

Description Matt Reid 2012-07-12 19:57:53 UTC
I'd like to improve our messaging when we hit issues with picking an SLA during autosubscribe and need the user to manually subscribe.

Current Message:
"No service levels will cover all installed products. Please use the "All Available Subscriptions' tab to manually entitle this system."

Proposed Message:
"No service level will cover all installed products. Please manually
subscribe using multiple service levels via the "All Available
Susbscriptions" tab or purchase additional subscriptions."

It would be great if we could add more useful information as well. Such as if there are any products that no subscription will cover, using any SLA. That's the most important one to me, but it could be useful to show a breakdown of what is available at each service level.

Comment 3 Tom Lavigne 2012-09-07 15:25:03 UTC
This request was evaluated by Red Hat Product Management for
inclusion in the current release of Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
Since we are unable to provide this feature at this time,
it has been proposed for the next release of
Red Hat Enterprise Linux.

Comment 4 Bryan Kearney 2012-09-10 16:43:59 UTC
We should be able to get to this in 6.4.

Comment 5 Tom Lavigne 2012-09-18 15:50:52 UTC
This request was evaluated by Red Hat Product Management for
inclusion in the current release of Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
Since Red Hat is unable to address this request at this time,
it has been proposed for the next release of Red Hat Enterprise
Linux.

Puting in the string change. Any additional interaction will require a new RFE for RHEL 7.0.

Comment 7 Bryan Kearney 2012-10-31 18:36:03 UTC
string fixed in master at 977681848b189ebb926e2497d87025835f268147

Comment 10 J.C. Molet 2012-12-19 19:56:08 UTC
As of subscription-manager-gui-1.1.18-1.el6.x86_64

The string is: "No service level will cover all installed products. Please run Subscription Manager to manually attach subscriptions"

This string is without ending punctuation and It does not match the suggested string (I think its actually a little more confusing than the original string).

The commit in comment 7 looks correct so I'm not sure where this string is coming from.

The various branding bugs must have clashed with each other moving. Pushing the release to include the fix at:
