Description Stephen Gordon 2013-07-09 16:21:52 UTC
Document URL:

https://access.redhat.com/site/documentation/en-US/Red_Hat_OpenStack/3/html/Getting_Started_Guide/ch06s05.html

Section Number and Name:

6.5. Launching an Instance

Describe the issue:

I have some concerns that this segment of the note about accessing the instance console is incorrect/invalid:

"""
From the command line:

    Navigate to the adminshell Directory:

    #cd /EAP_HOME/eds/teiid/adminshell/

    Launch the adminshell-console script:

    # ./adminshell-console.sh

The AdminShell GUI is displayed. You can exit the GUI at any time by clicking on: File → Exit
"""

In particular I would query whether we actually ship adminshell in RHOS, and if we do what package it is provided by. Additionally the presence of the EAP_HOME variable suggests to me these instructions are referring to something that is *not* provided via YUM/RPM (possibly EAP and ZIP file distribution).

Suggestions for improvement:

Confirm whether these instructions are in fact valid and either remove them entirely or make them clearer.

Summer can you please follow up on this?

Comment 3 Summer Long 2013-07-10 04:53:57 UTC
Removed faulty command-line instructions (no idea of their origin).
Steve, you want to confirm? Can be viewed here: http://file.bne.redhat.com/~slong/docs/Installation_and_Configuration_Guide/#Launching_an_Instance

This bug was originally for the Getting Started Guide, however the fix in Comment 3 was done to the Installation & Config Guide, which has the same text.

This bug has now also been fixed in the GSG.
