Same here. Tried to install the equalizer for Pulse Audio. As soon as I clicked the install button the application crashed and vanished from view.
I just hit this issue also on version 3.10.0-1.fc20 my steps to reproduce were: 1. open gnome software. 2. click on "getting things gnome" from the picks. 3. click on the blue install button in the top right. 4. gnome-software crashes
created upstream bug for this issue
I was tried to install Arduino package and crashed..
This one is now fixed upstream, so it will be fixed in the next update to gnome-software https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=709306

A newer build that contains this fix is available in this repo: http://people.freedesktop.org/~hughsient/fedora/20/x86_64/ it should fix the issues with crashes during installing or removing packages.

The problem remains. I just tried to install gnome-maps and the gnome-software application crashed as before. Information regarding the crash to be found here: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1018444
Confirmed I see the same as Charles, on testing with the updated gnome-software and PackageKit.
Sorry about this, those builds i linked to were more recent trunk builds rather than the 3.10 ones. I will try to get an updated 3.10 build posted you can test.
I successfully removed and installed several applications without having singe crash of gnome-software. Note: I did it on F20 running directly on my laptop (upgraded from F19, not on VM). gnome-software-3.10.0-1.fc20.x86_64
Try installing gtk-recordMyDesktop using gnome-software. It crashes for me 100% of the time on a fresh install of F20-Alpha.
With 3.10.1 it doesn't crash (neither this nor the crasher the 3.11 snapshot hit), but the install does not work in my test. I suspect this is because I did not create my user as an admin, and gnome-software doesn't do PolicyKit interactive authentication yet. Will confirm and file separately.
Actually, my user *is* an admin, but install still fails. Hm. Will file separately, anyway.
Created attachment 813144 [details] Text file containing Terminal output of gnome-software. $ rpm -q gnome-software gnome-software-3.10.1-1.fc20.x86_64 Just got the following while run from a terminal, when I clicked the install button: $ gnome-software (gnome-software:30139): Gs-WARNING **: failed to get updates: no results to show Segmentation fault (core dumped) This is on a fresh install of F20. Abrt only offered the option of "ignore forever." However, oddly enough, if I run it from a terminal window with the -v option, I am able to install the same software that failed each and every time before this. Terminal output is attached in text file.
My issue is https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1020069 . Charles, whatever you're hitting now, it isn't this bug. If you can't get a usable backtrace, it will be difficult to debug. See if you can reproduce it after a reboot, and file it separately. This specific bug looks like it's fixed.
