What were you doing to make this crash? Thanks.

Comment 15 Joachim Frieben 2016-04-01 16:18:39 UTC
I do launch gnome-software in order to check for updates at most; I do not have any precise memory of what preceded the event popping up in the bug reporting utility.

> 3. Found this abrt's notify on the other one,

Can you try doing:

killall gnome-software
gnome-software --verbose

and then trying to reproduce the bug? The verbose log will help me track down what's happening. Thanks!

Comment 19 Joachim Frieben 2016-05-25 19:38:44 UTC
(In reply to Richard Hughes from comment #18)
I have not seen this issue in a while. I therefore suppose that it has been fixed by changes in some undetermined GNOME component including GNOME Software itself.

Just do an upgrade from fedora 23 to fedora 24 and gnome crash (~3-5 minutes after SIGTRAP).
See these with journactl (during boot) : jun 27 01:46:03 TUTUL-SUPERTUX gnome-session-binary[2149]: Unrecoverable failure in required component org.gnome.Shell.desktop
Recently I update my UEFI (MSI X99A-RAIDER) to p40 and Secure boot is force-enabled and option to disable it disapear (but Fedora 23 was fine on it).

12:47 < hughsie> kalev, looks a valid thing to merge, but why would the updates monitor be destroyed at runtime?
12:48 < kalev> hughsie: gs-application destroys the updates monitor when download-updates gsetting is changed to false
12:49 < kalev> but I suspect this may be something else going on there, it's way too many duplicates for this case
12:49 < hughsie> sure, but would a... exactly
12:49 < hughsie> hmm
12:50 < kalev> anyway, GS_IS_PLUGIN_LOADER is crashing and I guess it can only do that when it's getting called on either garbage data, or we have a plugin

Approximately 2 (two) weeks from now Fedora will stop maintaining
and issuing updates for Fedora 24. It is Fedora's policy to close all
bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time
this bug will be closed as EOL if it remains open with a Fedora 'version'
of '24'.

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you
plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version'
to a later Fedora version.

Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we were not
able to fix it before Fedora 24 is end of life. If you would still like
to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version
of Fedora, you are encouraged change the 'version' to a later Fedora
version prior this bug is closed as described in the policy above.

Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's
lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a
more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes
bugs or makes them obsolete.

Comment 45 Fedora End Of Life 2017-08-08 14:04:38 UTC
Fedora 24 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2017-08-08. Fedora 24 is
no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further
security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug.

If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of
Fedora please feel free to reopen this bug against that version. If you
are unable to reopen this bug, please file a new report against the
current release. If you experience problems, please add a comment to this
bug.

Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed.
