Comment 2 David Mabe 2008-11-14 16:02:09 UTC
I have the same problem with 2.6.27.5-101.fc10.i686 after installing the preview release from a liveCD and upgrading. I also have the problem in bug 470637 with an error message at boot reading "Unable to register kobject 1\pci_slot: pci_create_slot returned -17." I don't know if they are related, so I'm including that here, too (the errors are adjacent in the dmesg output).

this should be fixed in kernels newer than -102

Comment 4 David Mabe 2008-11-15 01:30:33 UTC
Thanks, but I'm still seeing the issue with 2.6.27.5-109.fc10.i686.

Comment 5 Dave Maley 2008-11-15 18:23:31 UTC
Dave - I'm seeing the same failure here on my Thinkpad T61 running:
2.6.27.5-109.fc10.x86_64

Let me know if there's any further debug info or details I can provide .....

Comment 6 David Mabe 2008-11-16 16:59:35 UTC
I'm on a Thinkpad T61 as well...

There is an issue with the Fedora 9 kernel as well. The bug on it was marked as a duplicate of this bug.

Same issue, Fedora 9, Thinkpad T60 with Core 2 Duo processor.

Is this issue unique to Thinkpads?

Re: Comment #9 and Comment #12
Bug 471771 in F9 was my report. The PC is an HP workstation with a Core 2 Duo, not a ThinkPad, as Comment #9 asks.

Comment 14 Jens Falsmar Oechsler 2008-11-19 15:55:40 UTC
I had same issue on Thinkpad.
Using 2.6.27.5-120.fc10.i686 there is no errors.

Looking at changelog it sounds like fix came in -114.

Comment 15 Allen Kistler 2008-11-20 04:16:51 UTC
The problem remains in 2.6.27.5-41.fc9.i686, which was new today, on my HP workstation.

Comment 16 Bug Zapper 2008-11-26 04:56:30 UTC
This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora 10 development cycle.
Changing version to '10'.

More information and reason for this action is here:
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/BugZappers/HouseKeeping

Comment 17 Wang Zeguo 2008-11-29 12:52:24 UTC
The problem is still here today. I just came back to Fedora 9 from 10.
Mine is also 2.6.27.5-41.fc9.i686.

Comment 18 Allen Kistler 2008-12-11 23:13:04 UTC
2.6.27.7-53.fc9 appears to fix the bug on F9.

Comment 19 Wang Zeguo 2008-12-25 12:36:39 UTC
Yes, it does. For my box at least.

Found a similar problem after yum upgrading to kernel-2.6.29-0.74.rc3.git3.f11.

Those messages appear unrelated to this bug?
