Doc Text:
A new feature has been developed, which is to create a new installer based on the new TUI code-base. This has been done because the new codebase is more flexible and supports features like response to screen resize request and mouse input. The installer has been migrated to the new TUI codebase and utilizes all it's features

Description Mike Burns 2013-02-14 17:05:55 EST
Description of problem:

Use the same codebase as the new UI in the Installer to keep a consistent look and feel

Should provide the same functionality as the current UI
Should separate out logic from the screen as much as possible
Comment 6 Fabian Deutsch 2013-09-17 04:23:05 EDT
This is fixed in upstream 3.0
Comment 8 cshao 2013-10-12 03:24:12 EDT
Test version:
rhev-hypervisor6-6.5-20130930.0.auto665.el6.iso
ovirt-node-3.0.1-3.el6.noarch

Test steps:
1. Clean install RHEV-H.
2. Check the new installation TUI.

Test results:
1. The new installation TUI looking good. It can provide the same functionality as the old UI(6.4).
2. The package python-urwid has been added.
3. Install RHEV-H via new installation TUI can successful.
4. The base function of all menus work fine.

So this bug is fixed in rhev-hypervisor6-6.5-20130930.0.auto665.el6.iso. I will recheck it when I got official build.

For the detail functions of new installation TUI, I would like to track them using detail bugs as the followings: #867843 #885017 #887253 #895379 #901425 #913338 #911398 #970981 #976342

Thanks!

Hi Fabiand,

I noticed that this bug depends on: bug911398(on_qa); 970981(on_qa); 976342(verified), can I verify this bug with above build directly? or wait until all depend bugs fixed?

Thanks!
