As mentioned in
http://developer.gnome.org/doc/tutorials/gnome-i18n/developer.html#plurals,
the common way of handling plurals is broken for many locales. A way to solve
this is by using ngettext instead, as mentioned in that document.
A simple code example of code using ngettext:

  g_printf (ngettext ("Found %d file.", "Found %d files.", nbr_of_files),
nbr_of_files);

We should make all of the Red Hat tools use this when needed.

This is made difficult by the fact that there isn't an ngettext implementation
in python 2.2.

FWIW, there is one in python 2.3, although that doesn't help much if all RH
tools are using python 2.2.

Based on the date this bug was created, it appears to have been reported
against rawhide during the development of a Fedora release that is no
longer maintained. In order to refocus our efforts as a project we are

If you can reproduce this bug in a maintained Fedora version (7, 8, or
rawhide), please change this bug to the respective version and change

If you can reproduce this bug in the future against a maintained Fedora
version please feel free to reopen it against that version.
