Go to Theme -> Customize... -> Colors 3. Change the windows background color. 4. For some reason the change does not take effect immediately, so close it and run gnome-appearance-properties again. 5. For a moment you can see the new color taking effects and then immediately revert to the previous color. The crash is now reported by abrt. Comment ----- Trying to change the window background color. It is reproducible. Note this is F-13 system, only the kernel is from F-14. Looks like this upstream bug (has a patch): https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=618727 I tested a local build of libgnomekbd with the patch applied and it fixed the bug. *** Bug 592158 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** Note that to reproduce the crash, one must have more than one keyboard layout in gnome-keyboard-properties as it's the layout indicator that's crashing during the style change. install to test it with atm. can you give it a try ? if I get some confirmation that this fixes the problem and doesn't cause new ones, I'll put it in updates-testing. Your build works fine too. No crashes when changing colors.
